The University of Lille participated in the 35th edition of the EAIE — European Association for International Education conference, held from September 9 to 12 in Göteborg, Sweden. This event constitutes an essential gathering for the institution, given its focus on the internationalization of higher education in Europe and beyond.

This was my first participation in the EAIE conference, and it proved to be a particularly enriching experience. The conference provided a substantive platform for representatives from our components and partner institutions to meet with institutional partners, explore new collaborations, and discuss current and future challenges in internationalization.

For Polytech Lille, this occasion was especially valuable. Several new potential partners for our engineering school were identified through meaningful discussions on student exchanges, joint programmes, and research collaborations. The networking opportunities were substantial, yielding promising leads for future partnerships aligned with our internationalization strategy.

The conference also provided an opportunity to represent our European alliance NeurotechEU. Substantive time was devoted to exchanges with the NeurotechEU alliance team — including discussions with other alliances on best practices, strategies to increase the visibility of our actions before the European Commission, and exploration of the European Universities initiative with ULILLE partners. These interactions will contribute to strengthening our position within this important European network.

A week dense with conferences, roundtables, and diverse events aimed at reinforcing the international attractiveness of the University of Lille — and one whose outcomes will inform partnership development in the coming months.
